Kendra’s Response Questions for Reading 3

This reading poses a lot of questions surrounding the notion of security and privacy when using the Cloud, which from what I understand, has completely ruled out the early internet. What is the definition of ‘the early internet?’

“…in the cloud the user no longer needs to understand how a software program works or where his or her data really is. The important thing is that it works.”

What is the possibility of the ‘cloud’ ceasing to work? What could be able to cause this? Could anything cause this? Is the ‘cloud’ indestructible?

What is the cloud able to censor and who, is able to monitor it?

For the most part, I think I’m blissfully unaware of the fact that the internet, or in the this case, the cloud, has the power of surveillance and lack of privacy.
