Tannia’s Reading 4 Response Qs

“Others seek the benefits of anonymity: the ability to antagonize, prank, and generally act out without facing the consequences, without those actions being attached to one’s real-life identity. “

I personally agree with the above quotation. Anonymity provides users to act without responsibility, such as trolling. They can be whoever they want to be without others knowing them in real-life. Moreover, I think that because the media influences humans’ perspective negatively––like comparing reality to utopian images––human beings want to become someone else other then who they were born as. Thus, that is what the option of an A-culture provides.

Similarly in social-networking platforms. From Friendster, Myspace, to Facebook, Twitter––users still need to provide an account of their own. Nowadays our identity becomes unrequired and one can use the social media anonymously, like Askfm. So, what happens then in the future? Will our identity become unnecessary? Will we lose our identity too in real-life?
