Ben’s Reading #3 Response

So, I am not really sure what to make of this reading. I for one am all for freedom of speech and assembly, but I also understand the need for companies like Facebook to regulate the information that is relayed through it. I can’t see an optimistic outcome for internet anonymity , and it seems that the author was spot-on with predictions for cloud regulation in 2015.

However, what I find even more troubling, is the  US government regulation over all US-based cloud databases.  This seems to me to just serve as a loophole for intervention of foreign affairs. We can claim all we want that this is for national security, and yet we can see the countless other sectors of private life that this imposes on.

It just seems to me that the more freedoms we are given, the more other aspects of freedom and privacy are taken away.
