Michael – Response Questions #4

I think that the internet in general allows users to hide their true identities and be what they fail or are scared to be in their real lives. Facebook might not be completely anonymous, but many users prefer to say things online rather than in person. As the internet progresses will an online presence be more important than that of an actual person? People are ever more likely to tell the truth on an online platform and no longer in person. Some people use websites such as 4chan as their second lives. Some people are not happy with their actual lives and seek happiness or identity elsewhere, its sad but its true. I think the internet helps to spread ideas and freedom of speech, but it has its consequences. There are always going to be people using it in negative, illegal, or non beneficial ways.
